Who we are?

Your Guide, Josep Penella, is a professional photographer and inveterate world traveler who has chosen to make the West Kootenays his home. He is originally from Catalonia, Spain. Josep will share his enthusiasm for the areas attractions and natural beauty with you while encouraging and teaching you to improve your photography skills!

An educator for nearly 30 years, Marianne is a keen facilitator for your  Castlegar ESL experience. Marianne uses a student-centred approach to learning which makes English Immersion instruction both informative and invigorating.  Trained in Canada and US, Marianne holds a Masters of Science in Education, Bachelors of Science in Education, a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate and is also a certified B.C. Public Librarian.  Marianne is passionate about linguistics and languages, and is competent in Italian and French.   An avid world traveler, including Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, Marianne is familiar with the challenges of being in a foreign country and will make every effort to place students at ease.   She has lived in the Castlegar area for the past 18 years studying its rich history and geography.  Marianne is looking forward to sharing the Kootenays with you!
